Our friends at SpiceQuest are also pepper aficionados. They sell a variety of high quality pulverized peppers form around the world and also offer them in a push grinder. Think of them as an aggregator or a collector of peppers, discovering on your behalf.

Firecracker Farm, on the other hand, is a super-premium craft spice producer. We cultivate peppers on our small family farm, create exclusive and unique blends and extracts, then carefully infuse them into mineral-rich coarse sea salt. Think of us as spice traficking artists that innovate and experiment to create exhilerating taste experiences with flavor, heat and stainless steel.

Our signature blend is Three Kings Hot Salt. It’s made with Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Scorpion, and Ghost Peppers. They are peppers we grow and know well, that along with sea salt, serve as the canvas and foundation for many of our other exclusive blends.

Every small batch is handmade by Alex (that’s me) using proipriatary blending, aging, extraction, and infusion processes then packaged with care with help from my family. The precision stailess steel grinders bear the mark of stories and people that inspired them, and are works of art filled with integrity, effort and love.

Our Hot Salt is bold, nuanced, dynamic and exciting but never harsh, overbeaing or abusive. For us, it’s about creating delight in moments of connection as we break bread and painting everyday life with flavor, warmth and excitement.

True story: The first time I heard about SpiceQuest I looked them up. When I discoverd their founder had ordered from us before they launched I thought:

“Could it be this guy caught wind of us on Rogan or another podcast and is targeting us?”

Spoiler alert: No - He’s a pepperhead with a push-grinder pepper dispenser of his own, of course he would check us out! But I wasn’t sure and had to know.

So I reached out like a wannbe mob boss and left him a voicemail:

“It’s Alex from Firecracker, I know where you live. Call me.”

Well, he did call me!

We had a great conversation that was enlightening and funny. Apparently we have a lot in common. We both have Italian heritage. We both have extensive experience in digital marketing. We are both family guys…

Unfortunately the internet is being mean to Spice Quest… lots of people have accused them of copying Firecracker Farm, calling them a rip off and counterfeit. I say not so fast. They’re doing their thing, we’re doing ours. We both agree that push grinders are the best way to deliver precision dosages of the good stuff.

I hope we inspire them, they’re good people and we’re both small companies making big bets on what we believe in. Who knows, maybe we’ll even team up on somthing fun in the future.
